A Birthday Party!

You aren’t going to find my usual snarkiness and sarcasm. What you will find that this is a touching moment for me that I think many writer’s will understand.
Today is the first birthday of my Publisher, Second Wind Publishing. I know, it’s probably not a big deal to you, but it’s a huge thing for me because I have been part of this company since the day the idea was tossed around. It’s been an incredible, life changing journey and I am forever grateful to Mike for making it all happen.

Browse around a little, get an idea for who we are and what we’ve done. Stop by and say hi.
I’ve been and gobbed off.
And you were sweet to do so. Thank you Dave!
Very pleased for you all to see I was not the only one.
No snarkiness? WTF? Congratulations on the anni!! I know how big a deal it is for you and it’s awesome! Have at least a bite of food before you swim to the bottom of the fifth of vodka and hit the track.
Congrats hun!!
Why are you so surprised? WTF? Thank you Scott! I know you mean that from the deepest angles of your smartass little heart.
Good for you Claire and many congrats Sweetie! I’m very proud of you!
Thanks Vicki! It’s really been a great year with the company. I’m proud to be part of it.
I guess I’ll have to read more to find that snarkiness we all love. Congrats on being with such a great publisher!
wanda
Hi Wanda! Gosh honey, I don’t think you’ll have to look far. No one’s ever accused me of the being the “shy” or “quiet” one!
It has been a wonderful year, hasn’t it?
We’ve come such a long way, Pat. Pretty unbievable isn’t it? Would you have believed a year ago that you’d be here today?
Congrats! We’re both having an amazing 1st year. Here’s to many, many more!
George, Someday we’re going to mix up a little Hank and second wind and I’m going to see your artwork gracing a cover. I actually know several photographers and artists who are all amazing and I’m anxious to see what we can do with book covers.
Well, as long as we’re all dropping the snarkiness and sarcasm, I’ll spare you my usual jackassery and just offer you my sincere congratulations.
It must be an amazing experience to be in on the ground floor of something like this. Good luck and best wishes in the future.
And I sincerely appreciate your comments, CLT. It has been amazing. Thanks!
I have no wish to hijack this posting, but does anyone out-there have experience of this publishing site;

tahnks to CC for taking the space up!
I think mine are posted out there, but the formatting never came out right.
That is very important to know, thanks.
Thus far I’ve used issuu only, like it but better for graphics than words.
dave
I’m not familiar with issuu. I know Pat got Smashwords to work for her but I just haven’t taken the time to go back and see how mine go. http://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/secondwindpublishing
If you scroll down to the bottom, you can also read the beginning of the books and you can see the formatting.
I will, tar muchly.
that makes you a charter author, yes?
Uh. Maybe? I dunno, Gryph! Excuse my ignorance and tell me what a charter author is? You mean because I was in on the ground floor? I call that lucky!
Like a founding father or something like that. Special recognition at the anniversary party and etc.
Ahh no special recognition needed. All of the authors are special no matter whether they were one of the originals or newly added. In 10 years, it will make a difference!
Congratulations. While others take the high road, I of course cannot.
“we’re going to mix up a little Hank and second wind” Since you chose not to capitalize “second wind” I can only think you were making a fart reference which I am sure George would be happy to provide.
Leave it to you to take the low road. 🙄
It makes total sense that you would put Hank and farting together.
George offered – You’d draw for me too, wouldn’t you Bear?
Nope, George has a patent on fart jokes.
🙄
Where are the strippers?
You just missed them. Shoulda been over to visit me on Friday! 😆
I’m sorry, but I was stripping at the Cowboy.
And I missed that? Damn
Isn’t a rooster stripping also called molting?
Is the blog avatar picture and the bio-pic from the website taken from the same photo shoot? Just curious…
What gives you that idea? Here’s a little “about Claire” for you. I was sitting on my kitchen cabinet with a bed sheet behind me for those pictures.
My only, to date, press picture of me reading my online novel on a laptop, was taken in the downstairs loo,(to get enough darkness) me sitting on the can…
And on behalf of everyone, Thank you for not using that as your avatar picture Dave. Most pictures are taken with more light and yours is in the dark?
So that the laptop screen was visible. It worked quite well actually, but no-one around here will ever see it!
Hmmmm is that good or bad?
That’s awesome! I can’t tell you how many “bed sheet photo shoot stories” I have.
That’s because you were stripping at the Cowboy
Really Nice post.. Please keep posting….
I’m sorry I missed this birthday, Claire. Belated congratulations to all of you!
Thanks, Pamela!
